Dear friends,

On behalf of the Organising Committee for the Singapore Cardiac Society (SCS) 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting, I would like to invite all of you to join our meeting from 23 to 26 April 2020, held in the Grand Hyatt Singapore.

2020 is a very special year for us indeed as we collaborate with the American College of Cardiology (ACC) to bring ACC Asia to Singapore for the very first time after Shanghai, China in 2018 and Nagoya, Japan in 2019. As the first country in Southeast Asia to host this event, the ACC Asia Conference 2020 together with SCS 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting will be on a larger scale than before, and aims to attract both local and regional healthcare professionals.

Our meeting kicks off with an ACC Cardiovascular Overview and Board Review Course from 23 – 24 April 2020. Helmed by course chairs Matthew Martinez, Patrick T O’Gara and 5 ACC Faculty, the comprehensive 2-day programme is based on the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Certification Blueprint and covers 6 main ACC tracks (Arrhythmias, Heart Failure, Prevention, Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Coronary Artery Disease and Valvular Heart Disease). This course is ideal for fellows in training / senior residents reviewing your cardiology knowledge and preparing for exit exams.

For mid-career cardiologists in and around the region, the ACC International Leadership Development Program will be held as a pre-conference on 24 April 2020. This half-day course is the perfect opportunity to network with your peers from regional countries, as well as learn from top senior cardiologists including ACC President Dr Athena Poppas and Conference co-chair A/Prof K K Poh.

The crowd favourite Jeopardy competition returns bigger and better this year, with 3 local and 3 ACC International chapters teams vying for the top prize of the right to compete at the ACC 21 competition in Atlanta. Come support your team on 24 April 2020 and enhance your knowledge of Cardiology-related trivia too!

The main conference will be held from 25 to 26 April 2020 and promises a wealth of cardiovascular learning from international experts in an innovative format. Choose from 3 concurrent breakout sessions featuring the 6 main ACC tracks, interspersed with key plenary sessions and sponsored symposia. Experience a variety of hands-on simulation including ECG, auscultation, echocardiography and case discussions at your own time at our standalone interactive learning lab. Hear live pitches from startup companies at the Innovation Challenge, where winners stand to receive attractive cash prizes.

Our cherished traditional SCS sessions continue to feature this year. Enjoy the latest research with the Young Investigator Award competition, and celebrate the achievements of Professor Arthur Tan as the recipient of the SCS Lifetime Achievement Award. A/Prof Aaron Wong will have the honour of delivering the 2020 SCS Lecture and our Annual General Meeting will bring the entire event to a close.

With such an exciting agenda, this is a conference not to be missed. Save the dates, submit your science and register now! My team and I look forward to hosting you at the SCS 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting.
